An injection quill is a device installed into a process pipe that allows a chemical to be injected directly into the centre of the flowing fluid. By releasing the chemical at the pipe centreline rather than at the pipe wall, the injection quill ensures rapid and uniform mixing, prevents localised concentration at the pipe wall, reduces corrosion risk at the injection point and improves the effectiveness of the dosed chemical.
Injection quills are a critical component in chemical dosing systems for water treatment, oil and gas, cooling towers, boiler systems, RO plants and industrial process pipelines. Premix Technologies supplies injection quills as standalone items and as part of complete chemical dosing systems and dosing pump packages.
Permanently installed through a pipe fitting. The quill tube extends to the pipe centreline for direct centre-line injection. Simple, reliable and cost-effective for most dosing applications where maintenance access during operation is not required.
Can be withdrawn from the pipe for inspection, cleaning or replacement without shutting down the process or depressurising the line. Preferred for high-pressure pipelines, hazardous chemical service and where regular maintenance is required.
Quill insertion depth can be adjusted to suit different pipe diameters from a single quill design. Suitable for installations where the pipe diameter is not fixed or where field adjustment is required during commissioning.
Integrated check valve prevents backflow of process fluid into the dosing line when the dosing pump is not running. Essential for corrosive chemicals and pressurised pipelines where backflow could damage the pump or contaminate the chemical tank.
