The Storage Challenge in Bulk Edible Oil Tanks

Bulk vegetable oils are rarely uniform. During storage, heavier fractions, gums, waxes and fine sediment tend to settle toward the tank bottom, while temperature gradients form between the upper and lower layers. In large-diameter storage tanks this stratification causes inconsistent oil quality at the outlet, localized cooling that increases viscosity, and accumulation of settled material that is difficult to remove. For crude palm oil in particular, controlled gentle movement helps maintain consistency without excessive aeration or shear.

Why Side-Entry Mixing for Oil Storage

Compared with large top-entry units, side-entry agitators are far better suited to big, low-profile storage tanks: they require no heavy roof structure, are easier to install and maintain on existing tanks, draw less power for the same blending duty, and produce an efficient swirling flow pattern ideal for keeping large oil volumes in gentle motion.
